In class on Sunday, the theme was about bringing freshness to your yoga practice. As an example I talked about how when you drive somewhere you have never been before, it always seems to take so long, and everything is new and fresh. But when you take that road again it goes so much faster because you know the road – you aren’t bringing awareness to the full experience.

In your yoga practice its also easy to miss the newness as you travel down the same road, practicing the same postures each day. For the class we did some unique sequences and we did some familiar sequences differently – for instance, we did a sun salutation with eyes closed. It was pretty great to have an inspired, fun practice, just by changing things up a bit. Close your eyes and try it.

If you’ve had an experience of finding freshness in the everyday, please post it here.

Take care – John
