In this short video we work on the difference between movement in a posture, and the actions of a posture. To get an idea of what that means, in the movement of a posture it is more the direction the body is moving in, whereas the actions of a posture you are thinking about alignment principles no matter the body movement. For instance, if you stick your pelvis forward the movement of the pelvis is forward, obviously. 🙂 But, the actions in the head of the femurs (top of the thigh bones) is always the same, whether the pelvis is forward or not, which is to move back toward the back body. Even though the pelvis is moving forward the action in the thighs is back. Get it?

It’s pretty cool, and a concept you can use not only while doing postures, but as you are moving around in your day to day actives.

Hope you find it useful! Take care – John
