What’s the deal with yoga? One day I think it’s definitely one thing, and the next I think it’s something else. Why it’s hard for me is it’s somewhat of a moving target. One day I think yoga is awesome because it has helped me do cool things with my body I didn’t think I could ever do. On another day it helps my get beyond heavy thoughts in my mind and returns me to clarity. And on other days I get a sense like I’m this huge beacon of light after practicing, and I feel like I’m not alone in the world.

I guess the deal is that yoga is a lot of things. Each yoga practice gives you opportunities to feel better not only physically, but mentally and/or emotionally. Maybe one practice you get all three — great! Maybe another practice you don’t really connect to it physically, but mentally it’s helped you — just as great. Yoga is an opportunity to be YOU, and depending on the day, the time of day, how you are doing, who you’ve talked to…the practice will most likely provide the aspect of yourself (mind, body or spirit) that helps you in the greatest way. Bring yourself to the mat, wherever you are – yoga doesn’t care.
